UNEP OGMP 2.0 is a digital reporting tool for UNEP's global program for measuring, reporting, and reducing methane emissions in the oil and gas sector. Ur developed a self-service web application for company data, assets, documentation, and Excel-based reporting.

OGMP 2.0 was established to make methane-emissions reporting in the oil and gas industry more precise, comparable, and useful for actual emission reductions. For UNEP, this meant collecting reliable data from many companies, assets, and reporting levels without having to clean up invalid Excel files manually after import. UNEP wanted a self-service solution where member companies could sign in, keep track of their own assets, and submit standardized reports. A central part of the work was building an Excel import flow that checks data before it enters the database and gives users specific feedback throughout the process. Ur started work toward the end of 2022 and built the first version ahead of the 2023 reporting round.

The result is a web application where companies can upload reports, generate new Excel templates from existing data, see errors and deviations tied to specific rows and cells, and get an overview of company data, assets, documents, targets, and emissions summaries. The solution supports upstream and midstream/downstream reporting, with processing and validation handled on the backend for larger data volumes and advanced checks. The project was handed over in spring 2023 and was shortly afterward used by OGMP 2.0 members. The tool is used by more than 130 companies with assets in over 70 countries and gives UNEP a stronger data foundation for analyzing reported methane emissions across companies and segments.
